Roll 2

Camera: Yashica Mat EM

Film: Tri-X 400

Date Developed: 05.01.10

Development: T Max developer (2nd roll) 5 and  a half minutes @ 22 degrees

Notes:  Film torn and bent in places. I’m having lots of difficulty getting it onto the spools.  Using a change bag but the weather is hot and humid and my hands are too warm and sweaty and so the film keeps jamming up when I’m putting it onto the spools.  Apart from the torn bits, and the spots where the film had buckled and was touching and so didn’t develop, I was happy with the development and tones.

  1. Nice work, The tones are perfect! I’d like to get my hands on an old Yashica Mat EM or earlier model, they’re not easy to come by. In the past I always used an old stainless tank but have recently switched over to a plastic ratchet type. It’s much faster loading film with it.

    • Thanks fixedemulsion. I do love the little yashicamat em. The light meter on mine works really well and I love it that there is no need for batteries whatsoever! Mine has had a fall from a tripod so the back door is a bit dodgy now unfortunately. I had great difficulty with the plastic spools to start with but I’ve got all the strategies worked out now so I’m not finding them too bad. Thanks for visiting!
